Olav Rooyackers is a Professor in Experimental Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care and heads up the Division of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at the Department of Clinical Research, Intervention and Technology (CLINTEC) at Karolinska Institute (KI). His research focuses on the study of metabolic and nutritional challenges of critically ill patients, and he also co-runs the institute’s ICU metabolism research group.
Olav holds a PhD in clinical nutrition from the University of Maastricht (NL) and has completed 2 postdoc fellowships; one at the Endocrine Research Unit at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota (USA) and one at the Department of Medicine at the University of Edinburgh (UK). He is also the Treasurer of the Swedish Society of Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (SWEDEN).
